YES on Measure P authorizes the 132 local doctors who have formed Physicians for Healthy Hospitals (PHH) to purchase the Hemet Valley and Menifee Valley medical centers for $162 million.
Local physicians bring strong oversight to patient care. Physician-owned hospitals have played important roles in establishing lasting standards of excellence in the United States, including the Mayo Clinic. An August 2009 survey by Consumer Reports found that patients overwhelmingly preferred the care they received from physician-owned hospitals.
YES on Measure P ensures the fair market value for our hospitals as determined by an independent appraisal AND covers the district’s massive debts and liabilities. The offer from Physicians for Healthy Hospitals does not involve any public money and it protects taxpayers from losses stemming from the district’s massive debt and long-term liabilities.
Keep our local hospitals in local hands.
